i am scanning some negs i shot in addis ababa, at last! here i was around with my bff luisa. we reached this great terrace at piazza, just in front of enrico pastry (a must go for breakfast). a woman said this was an armenian building; actually it reminded me of rome in the fifties...

i thought we were in france...

i arrived in addis six days ago for an artist's residency at istituto italiano di cultura. in the meanwhile i walked around piazza together with my best friend luisa and i found some nice places.

solo show in brescia!

i am glad to announce my coming show in brescia, curated by motel b. it is called stanze (rooms).

Rooms collects three projects, developed between 2008 and 2011. The photographs depict the interiors of buildings deprived of their housing function. These are spaces in transition, entropic places which have ceased to be what they were and wait to become something else.

At that particular moment, everything remains as it was left: The presence of the people who lived there persists in these interiors, evoked by all the things that still inhabit the rooms.

Likewise my previous research on man-altered space, these three projects relate place, memory and things, by pushing a narrative flow that expands throughout the rooms.

this green facade was planned by gosplan architects. i went there with veronica rusca, one of the associates; the weather was awful. we have been lucky indeed.
